Back in 2013, when I was involved in managing a property for a family-owned investment company, I got a phone call from one of the tenants, a famous retailer.
"Does your firm own this property?"
I had to thank him because, even though we didn't own the property - we were their surveyors - the care and perseverance with which I had handled negotiations had convinced him that the firm must be the owners. And this really is the ethos I've always had.
Owning or renting property is business, but it's also personal.
We often ask ourselves, what would we want from a surveyor?
Obviously, like practically everyone, we would want the best possible deal. But, most of us want more than this.
We want plain talking and straight advice. We want to know the pitfalls and how to avoid them. We want those acting for us to understand our priorities and pressures.
It's not easy to give all of this to every client. But, deep down, we know the best results come from working with our clients, and by being open and upfront every step of the way.
You know what you’re doing. We know what we’re doing.
We have 25 years experience, during which time we have dealt with 1,000+ rent reviews and lease renewals on shops, restaurants, offices, and industrial properties. So if there's a problem, chances are we've dealt with it before.
